Brown Backs Brady’s Jobs Plan

DECATUR – Adam Brown, the Republican candidate for State Representative in the 101st District, releases the following statement on Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady’s jobs plan, A Better Illinois.

“As we all are well aware, the economic landscape in Illinois is so poor that we have reached new historic lows.  Last year alone, we lost some 240,000 jobs to neighboring states, and we are experiencing a 26 year high in unemployment figures.  Everyone knows someone who is unable to find work or has been laid off.  Decatur, once a prosperous manufacturing powerhouse of the Midwest, has witnessed two more companies announce the closure or potential relocation of their facilities in the recent news from the Tate & Lyle and Hostess Corporations.

This downward spiral didn’t just happen overnight.  It is the result of nearly a decade of one-party dominance of state government, characterized by poor leadership and failed economic policies.  The over-taxing, over-spending and over-borrowing of the ruling Democrats have driven jobs out of Illinois.

This fall, we have a unique opportunity to wipe the slate clean and start anew.  Bill Brady is the only candidate for governor with a comprehensive plan to kick-start our economy and put folks back to work.  I am pleased to announce my support for his jobs plan, A Better Illinois.  We have to put the brakes on the failed leadership and policies of yesterday, and focus on a brighter future for our families.  It’s time to get Illinois working again.”
